What's your Business Plan 

Business planning is the road map to success.  It gives you something to measure your progress and success against.  It gives you something to show people that you are one serious business woman who plans to succeed from home.  This should a small level of  market research, your company description, your goals, the strategy, the expected costings and last but not least your Profits.

Take it serious
The main thing to keep in mind is to select a career that you are fond of doing it ! Surf thoroughly before starting a business. Starting a home business is not easy.  From advertising to sales, you need lot of attention and focus . Due to lack of self confidence and motivation some home business workers don't take it seriously. Do not do this mistake. Option of working in your casual home dress may be much comfortable for you, but others or your client should not think you just rolled our of bed room.  Sustain a standard office timings, a formal dress code etc.,


Open a Current Account 
Opening a current account in the name of your business increase the strength of your business among your clients and also to meet various business needs. 

Take the available area 
A successful business requires atleast a small dedicated space within your home.  Consider converting your additional bed room to your new office (That is what i did) Need not worry if you do not have an extra room, go for a screen partition which is also good choice.  But be   

Start with a "Free"  

A home business must have an apparent selling intention. Why should people choose you for   a product or service instead of going to shop keeper for his product or service ?  Because you sell with a low margin, focused service,  flexible payment options or a combination of all.  You can also try offering your  product or service that is complimentary to the popular product or service, so watch for growth trends in your magazines, etc. and then introduce your product or service that "goes with" that product.

Combination Packages 

Try combining complimentary business or services or products to make your "combination package" business. An example for this would be..."Say... if your are a marriage coordinator, combine services like wedding backdrop decorations, displays etc., You would contact other business women in who does similar related products such as mehandi designing, wedding packages etc., to be your work force and then your business is the combination of these resources.

Cater to a "discarded" market 

You can do this by supplying products that are no longer "readily" available such as restructuring old silk sarees.

A shortage business

This is especially good for your local area. Find out what is lacking and provide that service or business or product.

Create a demand product

You can even "make it up"! One company did it by offering an award to "find" a fictitious character and then even started producing T-shirts etc. to sell!

Offer to expand market areas for local businesses

Offer local businesses in your area a chance to become more nationally known by offering your marketing services.

How about a Sales Rep

Most women know at least one MLM person.  You can set up as a sales rep your business.  They carry over your products to others, and place the order which gets sent to you and then you deliver.  This is great if you know a lot of women and have a vehicle!

A concrete reputation

A good reputation is undoubtedly the most substantial resources of home business persons like us. The essential key for successful business is reliability and consistency. If you do not use this key constantly, then you will be the loser. A good reputation is something you earn by idolizing your promises.  Be trust worthy.

The art of negotiations

Be hard on the deal, soft on the people, see the deal from their place. Make your proposal consistent with their value.  Negotiation, the game of every harmonious business relationships. Its very important to structure the communication in a positive process way in order to get a win-win   situation always.  Admit, when appropriate, the validity of your client's arguments.

Shameless self -publicity

Just because you found it, that does not mean you will get through.. No business product or service is been discovered by the people without advertisement.  People should know who your are, what you do ?  Especially a home business requires a lot of self-promotion to reach great heights.

It also has expanded the advertising audience to a tremendous amount of  new people though the Website or blog. It centralizes all your business and products into one central location. It gives you somewhere to send people so that you don't have to do as much selling because you let your website or blog do the selling for you. .  

Newsletter - When it comes to running a home based business, our look for as many avenues as possible to market your business to others. There is one successful fresh marketing tool is to design an e-newsletter which can be mailed to numerous clients within a short time.  

Flyers - There are many places that will allow you to place a flyerabout your business. Businesses like grocery stores, libraries, laundromats, hair salons and others will let you place a free ad o­n their public bulletin board.

Business cards - One of the most important networking tool. Don't leave home without them. You never now when the chance to hand o­ne out will happen. You may see an old friend, meet someone looking to get out of the 9-5 rut or who is in need of a new opportunity.

submit your website and ad.

All you need is a website or add, a little creativity, a little time, and you too can advertise your way to success without going to the poor house.

Don't give-up  

After a disappointing trial period, we get discouraged by all means sometimes. During those tricky times all we needs is unlimited power and determination.  There are as many as hurdles we face in our day to day business. We undergo lot of pressure,  financial squeeze,  lack of motivation etc.,  Keep in mind, "Nothing is permanent" (especially your business hurdles), "This happens not only for me".  Place lot of inspirational positive quotes in front of you, read it regularly.. ("Miles to go before I sleep", this is my favourate one)  Problems ?! Hurdle can come in any route, for which you will be wholly responsible. Sometimes you may take bad decisions, which could compile and end up with chaos, depressions etc., Be prepared ! After facing a few positive negatives, ultimately you come to a form..
